Bella Roots Salon

Louis Cerone of Uncle Oogie's Pizzeria

Maria McQuillen of Bella Roots Salon.

After months of quarantine and the anticipated wait for our salons to reopen, it feels good to be able to freshen up our look for the summer! Bella Roots Salon, formerly known as Salon Shannon Leigh, is under new ownership. Maria McQuillen, who worked at the salon for 10 years, purchased the salon from Shannon O'Rourke last year. The salon has been in its 39th and Landis Avenue location for over 60 years and under McQuillen's guidance became Bella Roots Salon. A veteran of the salon industry, McQuillen started working in salons in 1994, but it was always her dream to own her own salon one day. She and her husband Tom have two daughters Adyson and Alyssa. Her team at Bella Roots Salon consists of Donna Hadfield, Laurie Carlson, Shannon O'Rourke, Jessica Abraham, Deserie Farrington and Alexis Olson. Bella Roots Salon offers cut and style for women, children and men, color treatments, blow outs, bridal and special occasion styles and more. Under the current Covid-19 restrictions, everyone must wear a mask and must make an appointment ahead of time (no walk in appointments will be taken). The salon is open Sunday and Monday 8am-6pm, Tuesday 8am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-6pm, Thursday and Friday 9am-7pm and Saturday 8am-6pm. A full selection of products and gift certificates are also available online at

3918 Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City
